A standard trouser binds across the back of the thigh the moment the hips rotate. Cutting the seat deeper and tapering from the knee down keeps the leg clean without restricting the turn, which is the only reason a golf trouser exists as a separate thing.

Why it costs what it costs
Reinforcing a seam means sewing it twice with a different stitch on the second pass, which doubles the machine time on the longest seams in the garment. It is invisible until the day it matters, and it is where a technical trouser earns its price.
We sell direct. There is no shop floor between this and you and no distributor taking a cut on the way, so the retail margin that normally sits on top of a piece like this is simply not in the price.
