Oval
Metal Sunglasses
Oval sunglasses on a gold-tone metal frame, with UV400 lenses. Three lens colours.
A metal frame is bent, brazed and plated. Three separate operations before a lens goes in.
A thin metal frame has to hold a lens with almost nothing around it
There is no plastic rim to take the strain, so the wire itself has to be stiff enough to grip and soft enough to adjust. That balance is set in the alloy long before anyone picks a lens colour.
Oval lenses, flat bridge
These are vintage classic retro oval sunglasses with a metal frame and UV400 lenses.
They have an oval lens on a slim gold-tone metal frame, a flat bar across the bridge, straight temples and moulded tips. Three lens colours are offered.
The case shown alongside it is a styling piece and is not included.

Why it costs what it costs
A metal frame takes more operations than a moulded plastic one and it can be adjusted at a counter afterwards, which a moulded frame cannot. That is most of the difference in what the two cost to make.
We sell direct. There is no shop floor between this and you and no distributor taking a cut on the way, so the retail margin that normally sits on top of a piece like this is simply not in the price.
- Sold direct — no retail margin stacked on the pair
- A metal frame rather than a moulded one
- UV400 lenses
- Three lens colours, one style
- Seven calendar days from delivery to return or exchange, unworn and in its original condition.
