Roll-Collar
Shift Dress
A short-sleeved shift dress in a slubbed cloth, with a rolled collar and side pockets. Eight colours.
There are pockets in the side seams. They are not decorative.
A shift hangs from the shoulder or it does not work
Nothing on a shift dress holds it in at the waist, so the whole shape is decided at the shoulder seam. Cut it a centimetre too wide and the dress swings; a centimetre too narrow and it pulls across the back. There is no belt to rescue it afterwards.
Slubbed cloth, rolled at the neck
A handcrafted summer dress in a breathable fabric, suitable from brunch to the beach.
The dress photographed is a knee-length shift in a slubbed, linen-look cloth, with short sleeves, a wide rolled collar that sits off the shoulders, a small bow at the centre back and pockets set into the side seams. Eight colours appear in the gallery.

Why it costs what it costs
A slubbed cloth has thick and thin places built into the yarn, which is what gives it the texture — and which means every panel has to be cut with the slub running the same way or the dress reads as two different fabrics sewn together. That is a cutting-table cost, not a design one.
We sell direct. There is no shop floor between this and you and no distributor taking a cut on the way, so the retail margin that normally sits on top of a piece like this is simply not in the price.
