Suede usually means soft, and soft usually means shapeless. This one is built with structure at the sides and a squared flap, so the nap of the suede sits against a clean line rather than a slouch. The gold lock is the only bright thing on it.

Why it costs what it costs
Building structure into suede means backing every panel before it is cut, because suede on its own will not hold an edge. The turn-lock then has to be seated so it meets the flap square.
