A gathered shoulder changes the whole line of a coat
Padding a shoulder builds it outwards and squares the silhouette. Gathering it instead lifts the sleeve head upwards, which narrows the body by comparison without adding a millimetre of structure — and it does it in cloth rather than in wadding.
Lapelled, buttoned, tabbed
An overcoat that pairs with jeans or dresses up for formal events, sophisticated and adaptable.

Why it costs what it costs
A gathered sleeve head has to be eased into an armhole that is smaller than it is, which means the gathers are distributed by hand before the seam is sewn. Done badly it puckers; done properly it is invisible. There is no machine that judges it for you.
We sell direct. There is no shop floor between this and you and no distributor taking a cut on the way, so the retail margin that normally sits on top of a piece like this is simply not in the price.
