Stand-Collar
Zip Cardigan
A knitted zip-front cardigan with a stand collar and two zipped pockets. Six colours.
A zip runs the full length. The collar stands on its own.
A knitted zip has to be set on a band, not on the knit
Sew a zip straight to a knitted edge and the knit stretches along its length until the front hangs crooked. A stabilised placket band takes the tension instead, which is why a good knitted cardigan closes flat and a cheap one ripples down the front.
Knitted body, zipped through
A warm, easy-care knit made for chilly mornings and breezy evenings, as much at home on a quiet day as on a walk.
It is a knitted cardigan with long sleeves, a stand collar, a full-length zip, two zipped pockets and ribbed cuffs and hem. Six colours are offered.
How it wears

Why it costs what it costs
Two zipped pockets on a knitted garment means two more stabilised openings, each one a slit cut into the knit and bound before the zip goes in. Cut and bound badly, a knit runs from the corner. It is the single most skilled operation on a piece like this.
We sell direct. There is no shop floor between this and you and no distributor taking a cut on the way, so the retail margin that normally sits on top of a piece like this is simply not in the price.
- Sold direct — no retail margin stacked on the piece
- A zip set on a stabilised band
- Two zipped pockets, not open ones
- Six colours, one style
- Seven calendar days from delivery to return or exchange, unworn and in its original condition.
