A chunky angular square in black acetate, with a gold-tone ornament set into each temple. One colourway: Onyx Black.
Polarised lenses with anti-glare treatment and full UV400 filtering.
One colour, and that is the point
There is no colour decision to make here. The frame is cut in black acetate at full thickness, with an angular square front and a gold-tone ornament set into the temple, and it is offered exactly that way. A single colourway is a narrower proposition than a range — and a much easier one if black is what you were going to choose anyway.
Supplied in one colourway, Onyx Black, with a pale blue-grey lens.
Thick front, gold at the temple
The front is moulded acetate at full thickness, cut square with an angled lift at the outer corner and stepped where it meets the bridge. Every edge is a flat plane rather than a rolled one, which is what gives a black frame its definition instead of reading as a slab.
Each temple is a wide acetate arm on a metal hinge, with a raised gold-tone ornament set into the outer face just behind the joint. Against a black frame that is the only thing catching light, which is why it is placed where it shows in profile.
The frame is acetate with polarised lenses and full UV400 protection.
Where it sits
- A wide angular square that covers past the outer corner of the eye
- Thick acetate spreads the weight across the bridge instead of pinching it
- A moulded acetate bridge, so the height on the nose is fixed rather than adjustable
- Wide temples close off the side, so less light comes in from the edge
- The gold ornament sits at the temple, where it shows in profile
Filtered, not just tinted
The lenses are polarised with an anti-glare treatment and full UV400 filtering across UVA and UVB. Polarisation is what removes the flat white shine off a wet road, a windscreen or open water; UV400 is the protection figure, and it is the number worth reading on any pair.
The lens is a pale blue-grey rather than a flat black, which is what keeps a frame this heavy from reading closed off.
One colourway
Supplied in a single colourway. There is no second finish for this model.
Why it costs what it costs
A front this thick uses more material than a standard frame and every flat face has to be finished and polished separately. Setting a metal ornament into the temple is a second operation on top of that: the recess has to be cut and the piece seated flush. A polarised lens costs more than a tint.
We sell direct. There is no shop floor between the frame and you and no distributor taking a cut on the way, so the retail margin that normally sits on top of a build like this is simply not in the price. What that money pays for instead is the build — real acetate, set hardware and a polarised UV400 lens.
- Sold direct — no retail margin stacked on the frame
- Polarised, UV400 lenses rather than a plain tint
- Moulded acetate front at full thickness rather than a pressed one
- Metal ornament set into the temple rather than printed on it
- One colourway, one price

Is there more than one colour?
No. This model is offered in a single colourway, Onyx Black.
Are the nose pads adjustable?
No. The bridge is moulded into the acetate front, so the height on the nose is fixed. An optician can warm and reshape acetate slightly, but not the way metal pads adjust.
What does polarised actually change?
It removes the flat glare that bounces off horizontal surfaces — wet tarmac, a car bonnet, water, snow. Colours look deeper and you squint less. It is separate from UV filtering, which this lens also carries at UV400.
Is this a large frame?
Yes. The front is cut wide and thick, and the lens carries past the outer corner of the eye. On a narrow face it will read big, which for this shape is the point.
Will the gold ornament loosen?
It is set into a recess rather than glued to the surface, which is the construction that holds. Keeping the pair in its case rather than loose in a bag is what protects it.
How should it be cleaned?
Rinse under cool water to lift grit, then dry with the cloth supplied. Keep acetate away from heat — a car dashboard in summer is what warps a frame, not wear.
One colourway, held in a small run
This is a single-run frame rather than a carried line, and there is no second finish to fall back on. When the run is gone it is not automatically repeated.
Add it to the bag while it is here. If it is not right on your face, send it back — the only thing you risk is missing it.
