A cat-eye with corners
Most cat-eyes curve their way up to the point. This one gets there in straight lines: the top edge climbs, meets a flat outer face and turns down again in a hard angle. Cut short rather than wide, it reads as a piece of geometry sitting on the face rather than a softened vintage shape.

Angles need thickness
Every corner on this frame is a cut rather than a curve, and cuts only stay sharp in material with depth behind them. The acetate is kept heavy right through the outer face, which is what stops the angle rounding off after a season in a bag.
The temples are wide flat blades in the same material, carrying raised lettering along the outside and tapering to a bent tip. The bridge is moulded into the front.

Filtered, not just tinted
The lenses are polarised with an anti-glare treatment and full UV400 filtering across UVA and UVB. Polarisation cuts the flat shine off wet roads, windscreens and water; UV400 is the protection figure, and it is the number worth reading on any pair.
The translucent frames pair with gradient lenses, so light passes through both the acetate and the tint. The solid frames run a flatter, deeper lens.

Why it costs what it costs
Angular cuts are the slowest shape to finish. Each corner has to be cut, filed and polished on both sides identically, and on a small front any mismatch is visible immediately. Translucent acetate makes it harder again, because there is nowhere for a tool mark to hide.
We sell direct. There is no shop floor and no distributor taking a cut on the way, so the retail margin that normally sits on top of a frame like this is not in the price. What that pays for is the finishing time.

How small is this frame?
Short rather than narrow. The lens does not run far down the face, so it sits high and leaves the cheekbone clear. Across the face it is a normal width, which is what keeps it wearable.
Is an angular cat-eye harder to wear?
It is more assertive than a curved one, yes. On round and heart-shaped faces the straight lines do real work; on an already angular face it doubles up rather than balancing.
What does a translucent frame look like on?
Amber and the lighter finishes let light through the acetate, so they pick up skin tone and read softer than a solid colour in the same shape. They are the easier ones to wear every day.
Can the fit be adjusted?
An optician can warm and reshape the arms if they sit too wide, which is the usual adjustment on an acetate frame. The bridge is moulded into the front, so its height is set by the design.
Will the lettering wear off?
It is raised and set rather than printed, so it does not rub away. What damages set hardware is solvent — alcohol wipes and cleaning sprays rather than ordinary wear.
How should it be cleaned?
Cool water and a soft cloth. Keep solvents off the acetate — they dull the polish on the cut corners, which is exactly where this frame is meant to catch light.
