Scaled Leather
Handbag 28 — Pale Green
A structured 28 cm handbag in a matte, small-scaled leather, pale water green, with gold-tone fittings.
Every panel on it is matched scale to scale.
A pattern that has to line up across every seam
On a scaled hide the panels cannot simply be cut from anywhere: the scales run smaller towards the edges of the skin, so a bag like this is cut to keep them graduating evenly down the front, across the flap and along both sides. That is what the work here consists of.
Matte scaled leather, goatskin inside
The outer material is a matte alligator leather in a pale water green, lined in goatskin in a matching tone, with gold-tone metal.
The construction is the softer one for this shape, with the seams turned inside, and it closes on two straps over a plate and a turning lock with a key.
Alligator is a regulated material: an order crossing a border can need import and export paperwork, which we prepare with the shipment.
How it carries
- A single rolled top handle
- A shoulder strap included

The product
Outer material: matte alligator leather in a pale water green. Interior lining: goatskin, tone on tone. Gold-tone hardware. Dimensions approx. 28 × 20 × 10 cm. Supplied with a dust bag, box, lock, two keys, clochette, shoulder strap, rain cover and a care booklet. A limited edition.
One colour
Offered in a pale water green. This is the only colour.
Why it costs what it costs
The soft, turned-seam version of this shape is the harder one to build: the stitching is done from the inside and the bag is turned afterwards, so nothing can be corrected once it is right way out. On a patterned hide, a turn that pulls a panel out of line cannot be repaired at all.
We sell direct. There is no shop floor between this bag and you and no distributor taking a cut on the way, so the retail margin that normally sits on top of a piece like this is simply not in the price.
