Padding under corduroy fights the ribs
Quilting pulls cloth in at every stitch line, and corduroy shows exactly where that happens because the wale either stays straight or it does not. Getting both to agree is why most padded jackets are made in a flat nylon instead.
Corded outside, padded inside
This padded corduroy jacket is warm, durable and cut for winter, with deep pockets and a classic look.
It is corduroy over a padded body, with a stand collar, a press-stud front over a zip, two flapped chest pockets carrying a woven label, elasticated cuffs and a drawcord at the hem. Three colours are offered.

Why it costs what it costs
A drawcord hem needs a channel, two eyelets and a cord stopper at each end, all set into a hem that already has padding inside it. It is four operations to stop a jacket lifting in the wind, on a garment that would close perfectly well without them.
We sell direct. There is no shop floor between this and you and no distributor taking a cut on the way, so the retail margin that normally sits on top of a piece like this is simply not in the price.
