Thirty-one centimetres of handle adjustment is the difference between carrying a big tote in the hand and swinging it onto a shoulder over a coat. Most totes give you one or the other and expect you to live with it.
Calfskin, large-scale quilting
It has calfskin leather in a deep ocean blue with a large-scale diamond quilting, a removable interior compartment and gold- or silver-tone metal.
A lettered metal charm hangs at the centre front, and the handles are leather, adjustable through their length. The whole bag weighs about 900 grams.

Why it costs what it costs
A quilt at this scale is the hardest to keep square: the diamonds are large enough that a millimetre of drift shows across a 37 cm panel, and there is no small repeat to hide it in. The panel is quilted first and cut afterwards, so any error wastes the whole piece.
We sell direct. There is no shop floor between this bag and you and no distributor taking a cut on the way, so the retail margin that normally sits on top of a piece like this is simply not in the price.
