Small on purpose
Most sunglasses try to cover the face. This one does the opposite: a narrow oval lens that sits high on the cheekbone and leaves the rest of the face visible. It is the frame you reach for when the outfit is already doing the work and the eyewear only has to sharpen it.

A rim you can barely see
The metal that holds each lens is drawn thin enough to almost disappear at arm’s length, which is what keeps the oval reading as a shape rather than as a pair of glasses. A straight bar crosses the bridge and carries the nose pads on short arms.
The temples are flat blades rather than round wire. They widen slightly towards the hinge, lie close against the head, and finish in a moulded tip — tortoiseshell on the gold frames, black on the silver. It has reinforced metal hinges.

Four tints, one filter
It has UV400 filtering on every lens, which is the figure that matters — it blocks the full ultraviolet range up to 400 nanometres. What changes between the finishes is colour, not protection.
Green reads classic and holds contrast. Dark grey is the neutral one. Brown warms the light and flatters on overcast days.

Why it costs what it costs
A thin metal rim is harder to build than a thick plastic one. There is less material holding the lens, so the bending and the soldering have to be right or the frame twists in the first month. Flat blade temples and reinforced hinges add to that, and none of it is where the usual price of a frame like this comes from.
We sell direct. No shop floor, no distributor taking a cut on the way, so the retail margin that normally sits on top is simply not in the price. What that pays for is the metal — a rim drawn thin and finished properly, instead of a moulded front made to look like one.

Is 55 mm small or large?
Small. Most everyday sunglasses run 55 to 60 mm wide but much taller; here the lens is only 39.8 mm high, so the frame reads narrow on the face even at that width. On a wide face it will look deliberately undersized, which is the intended effect.
What UV protection do the lenses have?
UV400, across UVA and UVB.
Do the flat temples stay put?
They lie flatter against the head than round wire arms, which is why they work under a hat or with hair down. They grip less than a curved temple, so on a run or a bike they are not the frame to reach for.
Which tint should I choose?
Green for strong sun and contrast, dark grey if you want colours to stay true, brown for flat overcast light. All three carry the same UV400 filter, so the choice is aesthetic.
Will the gold tone rub off?
It is a plated finish, so friction points — the tips, the inside of the bridge — wear first. Storing the pair in a case rather than loose in a bag is what makes the difference over a season.
Can an optician fit prescription lenses?
The rim is standard full-rim metal, so reglazing is usually possible. The oval is shallow at 39.8 mm, which limits stronger varifocal prescriptions — worth asking before ordering lenses.
Small frames run out first
Each finish is held in a small run, and the gold pairs move fastest. When a colourway sells through it is not always repeated — the shape stays in the range, the tint does not always come back with it.
