Napped Drawstring
Hobo — Grey
The same drawstring hobo in a soft grey napped finish, quilted, on a chain-and-leather strap with a front flap pocket.
The matt version of the drawstring shape — quilt, chain, flap pocket.
A soft shape in a soft surface
There is no frame in it and no shine on it. The body slumps when it is light and rounds out when it is full, and a matt grey nap keeps the whole thing quiet — which is the point of the colour as much as the shape.
Listed at checkout in grey. The same design is listed separately in black and in a larger beige.
Quilted nap, drawstring top
The body is quilted in a wide diamond over a soft grey nap with no stiffening behind it, and the top gathers on a drawstring that runs through the upper edge rather than a zip.
A flap pocket sits on the front panel with a metal catch, and the strap is a gold-tone chain threaded through with leather so the links do not run bare on the shoulder.
How it carries
- A soft body with no internal frame
- A drawstring top that gathers closed
- A flap pocket on the front panel
- A chain threaded with leather
- One of three versions of the same design
The product
An elegant hobo-style silhouette, a spacious interior for daily essentials and a comfortable shoulder carry, for work, travel, shopping and special occasions.
One colour
Listed at checkout in grey. The same design is also listed in black and in a larger beige, each separately.
Why it costs what it costs
Quilting a napped surface is harder than quilting a coated one: the needle marks the pile, so the lines have to go in once and go in right. There is no unpicking a mistake out of a nap without leaving it behind.
We sell direct. There is no shop floor between this bag and you and no distributor taking a cut on the way, so the retail margin that normally sits on top of a piece like this is simply not in the price.
- Sold direct — no retail margin stacked on the bag
- A quilted body rather than a flat one
- Leather threaded through the chain
- A drawstring top rather than a zip
- One colour, one price

1 × Napped Drawstring Hobo — Grey
What are the other versions?
The same drawstring hobo is listed separately in black and in a larger beige.
What material is it?
A soft matt napped finish.
How should it be cleaned?
A napped surface is brushed, not wiped. Keep water off the leather threaded through the chain.
Will grey mark?
It can. A matt nap holds a mark more readily than a coated surface. Brushing the pile back is the usual fix.
One colour, held in a small run
This is stocked in small quantities rather than carried continuously. When it goes it is not automatically repeated.
Add it to the bag. If it is not right, send it back.
