Every band means carrying a second yarn across the back of the work, and the tension of that carried yarn decides whether the yoke sits flat or pulls in at the shoulders. It is the part of the garment that cannot be rushed.

Why it costs what it costs
Brushing a knit raises the fibre after the garment is made, which softens the surface and hides the stitch. Do it too hard and the pattern underneath disappears with it, so the yoke has to be knitted tighter than the body to survive the process.
We sell direct. There is no shop floor between this and you and no distributor taking a cut on the way, so the retail margin that normally sits on top of a piece like this is simply not in the price.
