Raffia-Effect
Chain Flap Bag
A small flap bag in a raffia-effect woven textile, on a gold chain, with a magnetic flap and no lining.
Four centimetres deep — an evening bag, not a day bag.
Built for a table, not for a commute
At four centimetres deep this holds a phone, a card holder, keys and a lipstick and refuses anything else. That is the point of the format: it keeps the line of what you are wearing instead of adding to it.
Woven textile, gold clasp
It has a textile fabric with a raffia effect outside and no lining, which is what keeps the bag as light as it is. The weave is worked in close rows so the surface reads as basketry rather than cloth.
The flap closes on a magnet behind a gold-tone clasp, and the strap is a gold chain with a length of about 30 cm, which puts the bag under the arm rather than at the hip.
How it carries
- A 30 cm chain — worn on the shoulder, high
- A magnetic flap rather than a clasp to work
- No lining, so the bag stays very light
- Four centimetres deep, for the essentials only
- A woven surface rather than a printed one
The product
Textile fabric with a raffia effect. Unlined. Gold-tone metal clasp and chain strap. Magnetic flap closure. Width 20.5 cm, height 11.5 cm, depth 4 cm. Chain length approx. 30 cm.
One colour
Offered in a natural raffia tone. This is the only colour.
Why it costs what it costs
An unlined bag has nowhere to hide its construction. Every seam is visible from the inside, so the weave has to be finished on both faces rather than one — more work, not less, despite there being less material in it.
We sell direct. There is no shop floor between this bag and you and no distributor taking a cut on the way, so the retail margin that normally sits on top of a piece like this is simply not in the price.
- Sold direct — no retail margin stacked on the bag
- A woven raffia-effect surface, not a print
- Unlined, so the inside is finished too
- Seven calendar days from delivery to return or exchange, unworn and in its original condition.
