The frame is the whole design
A framed bag opens flat along its whole top edge instead of through a zip, so you can see everything inside at once and reach it with one hand. It also holds the mouth open by itself, which no soft bag does.
Satin calf, lamb lining
It has satin-finished calf leather outside and a lamb leather lining inside, with gold-coloured metal and a T-shaped closure on the frame.
Inside there is one spacious main compartment and a flat inner pocket. The handle is a sturdy leather loop with a 9 cm drop, which is a hand carry rather than a shoulder one.

Why it costs what it costs
A frame bag is built around its metal, not around its leather. The frame has to be set, hinged and closed by hand, and the leather is worked to it rather than the other way round — which is why frame bags are the slowest shape in any workshop.
