Sunglasses
A rimless rectangular lens carried on gold-tone metal arms, cut narrow and worn close to the eye. Five gradient colourways.
UV400 protection, blocking 100% of UVA and UVB radiation.
The frame, taken away
Rimless eyewear works because there is almost nothing to look at except the lens. Here the lens is cut as a narrow rectangle and held only at the bridge and at each temple, so what reads on the face is a rectangle of colour and two fine gold lines. On a shape this small, that is the difference between a frame and a piece of jewellery.
Photographed here in brown. The same lens shape is offered in five gradient colours.
Held at three points
There is no rim. The lens is drilled and mounted straight onto a gold-tone metal bridge at the centre and onto a small decorative mount at each outer edge, where the temple begins. That is the whole structure — everything else you can see through.
The arms are thin gold-tone metal with a moulded dark tip at the end. Because there is no rim carrying the weight, the frame sits very light on the nose; the trade is that a rimless lens should be handled by the arms rather than pushed at the lens.
It has a metal frame with a smooth gold finish. The lens is a high-impact plastic.
Where it sits
- A narrow rectangle that sits close to the eye rather than covering the socket
- No rim, so the frame is barely felt across the nose
- Fixed nose pads at the bridge — the height on the nose is set rather than adjustable
- Thin arms disappear at the side, which is what keeps the look clean in profile
- Reads small and graphic on any face, which is the point of the shape
The protection figure
The lenses carry UV400 protection, blocking 100% of UVA and UVB radiation. UV400 is the number worth reading on any pair — it is the figure that describes what the lens filters out, and it is independent of how dark the tint looks.
These are gradient lenses rather than dark ones: strong at the top, clearing towards the bottom.
Five gradients, one lens shape
Every colourway uses the same gold-tone hardware; only the lens colour changes.
Why it costs what it costs
A rimless lens is more work than a framed one, not less. Each lens has to be cut exactly and drilled without cracking, and the mounts have to hold it square with nothing else supporting the shape. None of that is where the usual shelf price comes from.
We sell direct. There is no shop floor between the frame and you and no distributor taking a cut on the way, so the retail margin that normally sits on top of a piece like this is simply not in the price. What that money pays for instead is the build — metal hardware with a smooth gold finish and a UV400 lens, on all five colours.
- Sold direct — no retail margin stacked on the frame
- UV400 stated, blocking 100% of UVA and UVB
- Metal bridge and arms rather than a moulded plastic front
- Drilled rimless mounting instead of a glued rim
- Five gradient colours at one price

Are rimless sunglasses fragile?
The lens itself is structural, so it is a high-impact plastic rather than a brittle one. Handle them by the arms and keep them in their case and they last well.
What UV protection do the lenses have?
UV400 — 100% of UVA and UVB.
Is it too small for a wide face?
It sits small and close to the eye, which is the whole point of the shape.
Can the fit be adjusted?
The metal arms can be eased gently by an optician. The pads at the bridge are fixed, so the height on the nose is set by the design.
Will the gold finish wear?
It is a gold plating, and it keeps its finish best when the pair goes back into its case rather than loose into a bag.
How should it be cleaned?
Rinse under cool water to lift grit, then dry with a soft cloth. Hold the lens by its edge rather than pressing on the face of it.
Five colours, and not many of each
Each colour is held in a small run. The blue and the purple are the two that go first, and when a colour goes it is not always brought back.
Pick your colourway above and add it to the bag. If it is not right on your face, send it back — the only thing you risk is missing the one you wanted.
