Shirred-Bodice
Midi Dress
A midi dress with a shirred bodice, balloon sleeves and a full gathered skirt. Five colours.
Shirring is rows of elastic sewn into the cloth. It is what lets one bodice fit several sizes.
A shirred bodice is dozens of parallel rows that all have to hold the same tension
Each row is elastic thread sewn under tension across the full width of the panel. One row pulling harder than its neighbours and the whole front twists, so the rows are laid slowly, one after another, on cloth that is already cut.
Shirred above, gathered below
This summer dress balances style and comfort, made from premium materials, cut to a V neckline and marked by its colours and character.
The dress photographed has a bodice shirred across the front, worn on or off the shoulder, with balloon sleeves gathered into ruffled cuffs and a full gathered skirt falling to mid-calf. A sash ties at the waist in some photographs, and the white and rust versions show a twisted front with a small opening at the waist. Five colours appear in the gallery.

Effortless elegance for summer, a balance of style and comfort for any occasion, premium materials, a sophisticated V neckline and colours with character.

Why it costs what it costs
Rows of shirring are sewn one at a time, and a full gathered skirt uses several times the cloth of a straight one. Both are quiet costs that never show on a label and always show in how a dress hangs.
