A narrow metal oval with a sculpted ornament at each hinge. Six colourways, including one left clear.
Polarised lenses with anti-glare treatment and full UV400 filtering on the tinted colourways.
The oval, cut narrow
An oval sits between a round frame and a rectangle, and the width decides which way it leans. This one is cut narrow, so it reads closer to a rectangle on the face — sharper than a circle, softer than a square. The rim is thin enough that the shape registers as a line drawn around the eye rather than as a block of frame.
Photographed here in Gold Black. The same oval carries all six finishes.
Thin metal, one heavy detail
The rim is a fine run of metal closed into a narrow oval, joined by a slim bridge with nose pads on short arms below it. The whole front is built to disappear; there is no brow bar and no second line anywhere across the face.
The one piece of weight in the design sits at the hinge, where a small sculpted ornament is set into the outer face of the temple. From there the arm runs back thin and straight into a moulded black tip.
Where it sits
- A narrow oval that sits close to the eye rather than covering the socket
- Nose pads on metal arms set the height and keep the rim off the cheek
- A thin rim keeps the weight low — the frame is barely felt across the nose
- Reads compact on a wide face and deliberately small on a narrow one
- Moulded tips curve behind the ear rather than gripping it
Filtered, not just tinted
The lenses are polarised with an anti-glare treatment and full UV400 filtering across UVA and UVB. Polarisation is what removes the flat white shine off a wet road, a windscreen or open water; UV400 is the protection figure, and it is the number worth reading on any pair.
Gold Clear is supplied with an untinted lens — a frame rather than a sun lens. The other five are tinted, and the gradients run darker at the top and clear towards the bottom.
Six finishes, one oval
Four finishes use the gold-tone rim; Black and Black Blue are the same oval in dark metal.
Why it costs what it costs
A narrow metal oval is fiddly to build. The rim has to hold its curve across a short span, the hinge has to carry a sculpted ornament without loosening, and a polarised lens costs more than a tint. None of that is where the usual shelf price comes from.
We sell direct. There is no shop floor between the frame and you and no distributor taking a cut on the way, so the retail margin that normally sits on top of a build like this is simply not in the price. What that money pays for instead is the lens — polarised with UV400 across the tinted colourways, rather than the good lens being reserved for one finish.
- Sold direct — no retail margin stacked on the frame
- Polarised, UV400 lenses rather than a plain tint
- Metal rim and metal hinges instead of moulded plastic joints
- Nose pads on adjustable arms, so one frame fits a range of bridges
- Six finishes at one price, including an untinted option

Is this a small frame?
Yes. The oval is cut narrow, so it covers less than a standard frame of the same width. It is a deliberate choice rather than a sizing compromise.
Can the nose pads be adjusted?
Yes. They sit on metal arms and can be pinched closer or eased apart by hand to raise or lower the frame. Any optician will do it in a minute if you would rather not.
What does polarised actually change?
It removes the flat glare that bounces off horizontal surfaces — wet tarmac, a car bonnet, water, snow. Colours look deeper and you squint less. It is separate from UV filtering, which this lens also carries at UV400.
What is the Gold Clear finish?
The same frame supplied with an untinted lens. It is bought as a frame — for the look, or to be reglazed to prescription — rather than as a sun lens. The lens still carries UV protection.
Will the plated finish wear?
It keeps its finish best when the pair goes back into its case rather than loose into a bag.
How should it be cleaned?
Rinse under cool water to lift grit, then dry with the cloth supplied. Dry-wiping a dusty lens is what causes the fine scratching people blame on the coating.
Six finishes, and not many of each
Each colourway is held in a small run. The gold-tone pairs go first and the red rarely lasts a season — when a finish goes it is not always brought back.
Pick your colourway above and add it to the bag. If it is not right on your face, send it back — the only thing you risk is missing the one you wanted.
