Short, thick and unmissable
The lens is barely taller than it is deep and the acetate around it is heavy, so the whole front reads as one solid bar across the face. It is a frame that sits close to the eye and makes no attempt to look delicate — the opposite of a wire rim, and the reason it photographs the way it does.

Cut, not moulded
It has acetate rather than injected plastic, which is what allows the front to be this thick without feeling dense. The outer corners are cut back at an angle instead of rounded off, so the rectangle keeps its edges and the lens sits in a bevelled recess rather than flush.
At each hinge sits a round medallion disc in gold-tone metal, with a short ridged bar behind it carrying the line into the temple. The arms are wide flat blades that taper to a soft bend at the tip.

Coated for the full UV range
It has lenses coated for 100% UV protection, and glare reduction on light bouncing off roads, water and snow. That is the pair of claims worth having: one protects the eye, the other is what stops you squinting on a bright road.
One shape, two finishes
Both carry the same dark lens and the same gold-tone hinge detail. Black reads sharper; white lifts the medallion and shows more of it.
Why it costs what it costs
Acetate is the expensive material in eyewear. It is cut from sheet rather than injected, a front this thick needs more of it, and the bevelled corners have to be worked and polished by hand. Set metal hardware into the hinge and you have a build that is nothing like a moulded plastic frame with a printed logo.

Is 124 mm a narrow frame?
Yes, at the smaller end. Most adult frames run 130 to 145 mm across the front, so this one sits close to the face and will read as deliberately compact on a wide face rather than as a bad fit.

Can the fit be adjusted?
Not at the bridge — it is moulded acetate rather than metal pads, so the height is fixed. An optician can warm and reshape the arms if they sit too tight, which is the usual adjustment on an acetate frame.
Black or white?
Black disappears into most outfits and lets the gold hardware do the talking. White does the opposite — it reads as a summer frame and puts the whole shape forward. Same lens in both.
Will the white frame yellow?
White acetate holds its colour far better than white plastic, but sun cream and hair product left on it will stain over a season. A rinse and a dry cloth after a beach day is all it takes.
How should it be cleaned?
Cool water and a soft cloth. Keep alcohol wipes and solvents away from acetate — they dull the polish on the rim and can loosen set hardware over time.
