Classic Round
Sunglasses
A small round acetate frame with a thin rim and a straight temple. Three colourways, two of them supplied untinted.
Polarised lenses with anti-glare treatment and full UV400 filtering for the tinted colourway.
The round frame at its plainest
No brow bar, no hardware, no ornament: a small round lens in a thin acetate rim, and two straight arms. It is the most reduced frame in the range and the hardest to get right, because with nothing else on the piece the only thing carrying it is the proportion of the circle to the face.
Photographed here in the black finish. The same frame is offered in three colourways.
Rim, bridge, two arms
The front is moulded acetate cut as a thin round rim, with the bridge moulded into it in a single piece. There is no metal anywhere on the front and no pad on the nose — the acetate sits directly against the bridge, which is how a frame this small stays this light.
The temples are straight acetate arms on small metal hinges, running back without a curl and finishing flat. Two of the colourways use a translucent or patterned acetate, so the material itself is the only decoration.
The frame is acetate; the tortoiseshell pattern runs through the material rather than being printed on it.
Where it sits
- A small circle that sits close to the eye rather than covering the socket
- A moulded acetate bridge — the height on the nose is fixed rather than adjustable
- No metal on the front, so nothing presses on the bridge
- Straight arms sit flat against the head rather than curling behind the ear
- Reads deliberately small on any face, which is the look rather than a fit issue
Filtered, not just tinted
The lenses are polarised with an anti-glare treatment and full UV400 filtering across UVA and UVB. Polarisation is what removes the flat white shine off a wet road, a windscreen or open water; UV400 is the protection figure, and it is the number worth reading on any pair.
Red Flame and Transparent are supplied with untinted lenses — frames rather than sun lenses. Black is the tinted option.
Three colourways, one frame
Black is a solid acetate with a dark lens; Red Flame is a patterned acetate and Transparent a translucent one, both supplied untinted.
Why it costs what it costs
A small acetate round is more fiddly than a big one. The rim has to hold a true circle over a short span and the bridge is moulded in one piece with it, so an error anywhere shows on the face. A polarised lens costs more than a tint. None of that is where the usual shelf price comes from.
We sell direct. There is no shop floor between the frame and you and no distributor taking a cut on the way, so the retail margin that normally sits on top of a build like this is simply not in the price. What that money pays for instead is the build — moulded acetate with the pattern running through it, and a polarised UV400 lens on the tinted option.
- Sold direct — no retail margin stacked on the frame
- Polarised, UV400 lens on the tinted colourway
- Moulded acetate front rather than a thin printed plastic one
- Pattern running through the material, not printed on the surface
- Three colourways at one price, two of them supplied untinted

Is it too small for a wide face?
It sits small and close to the eye, which is the whole point of the shape.
Are the nose pads adjustable?
There are no pads. The bridge is moulded into the acetate front, so the height on the nose is fixed. An optician can warm and reshape acetate slightly, but not the way metal pads adjust.
What does polarised actually change?
It removes the flat glare that bounces off horizontal surfaces — wet tarmac, a car bonnet, water, snow. Colours look deeper and you squint less. It is separate from UV filtering, which this lens also carries at UV400.
What are the Red Flame and Transparent finishes?
The same frame supplied with an untinted lens. They are bought as frames — for the look, or to be reglazed to prescription — rather than as sun lenses. The lenses still carry UV protection.
Is the pattern printed on?
No. It runs through the acetate block, so it does not wear off at the edges the way a printed finish does.
How should it be cleaned?
Rinse under cool water to lift grit, then dry with the cloth supplied. Keep acetate away from heat — a car dashboard in summer is what warps a frame, not wear.
Three colourways, and not many of each
Each finish is held in a small run. The patterned acetate is the one that goes first, and when a colourway goes it is not always brought back.
Pick your colourway above and add it to the bag. If it is not right on your face, send it back — the only thing you risk is missing the one you wanted.
