Wide, and the width is the point
The front runs wider than the face needs and the lens is squared off at every corner. Nothing is softened. That is what gives the frame its flat, deliberate line across the eyes — a shape that photographs well precisely because it refuses to follow the curve of the face.

Four corners, no compromise
The lens sits in a deep acetate rim that keeps the same thickness the whole way round, so the square holds its corners instead of easing into a rounded rectangle. On a front this wide that matters — a thin rim at the outer edge would let the shape sag.
Each temple carries a long rectangular plaque in gold-tone metal, set flush into the acetate at the hinge end. The arms are wide and flat, tapering only at the tip where they turn behind the ear.

Filtered, not just tinted
The lenses are polarised with an anti-glare treatment and full UV400 filtering across UVA and UVB. Polarisation is what removes the flat white shine off a wet road or a windscreen; UV400 is the protection figure, and it is the number worth reading on any pair.
Most finishes run a gradient that starts dark at the brow and clears towards the lower edge. Black and White carry a flatter, more even tint.
One front, seven finishes
Red Orange and Rose are translucent, so the light passes through the frame itself. Black Gold pairs a black front with a pale inner temple.
Why it costs what it costs
A front this wide takes more acetate than a standard one and more time on the cutter, and holding the rim at full thickness right into the corners is a choice that costs material rather than saves it. The metal plaque is set into a routed channel in the temple, not stuck to the surface — a step most frames at this price leave out.

Is this frame too wide for a small face?
It is cut wide on purpose, so it reaches past the outer edge of the eye — that generous sweep is the whole look of the shape.
What does a translucent frame look like on?
Red Orange and Rose let light through the acetate, so the frame picks up skin tone and reads softer than a solid colour at the same size. They are the two finishes that make an oversized shape feel lighter.
Can the fit be adjusted?
An optician can warm and reshape the arms if they sit too wide, which is the usual adjustment on an acetate frame. The bridge is moulded into the front, so its height is set by the design.
Will the plaque come loose?
It is set into a routed channel rather than glued to the surface, which is the construction that holds. What loosens hardware over time is solvent — alcohol wipes and cleaning sprays, not ordinary wear.
Which finish is the easiest to wear?
Red Wine. It reads almost black indoors and only shows its colour in direct light, so it carries an oversized shape without committing to a bright frame.
How should it be cleaned?
Cool water and a soft cloth. Keep solvents and alcohol wipes away from the acetate — they dull the polish on the rim and work at the edges of set hardware.

Each colour is cut from its own sheet of acetate, so nothing here can be mixed to order. The translucents go first because they are the hardest to match again, and a finish that sells through is not always cut a second time.
