A small oval in thick acetate, with a metal marker at the hinge and a pale contrast tip. Six colourways.
Polarised lenses with anti-glare treatment and full UV400 filtering on the tinted colourways.
Small frame, thick material
The opening here is a short oval, but the acetate around it is not thin. That combination is what gives the frame its weight on the face: a small lens with a heavy outline reads as a decision rather than a default, and it puts the emphasis on the shape of the eye rather than on coverage.
Photographed here in the black finish. The same front is offered in six colourways.
Cut from sheet
The front is moulded acetate, carried well beyond the small lens on every side and stepped where it meets the bridge. The tortoiseshell finishes are the pattern running through the material rather than a print on the surface, which is why the depth changes as the frame turns in the light.
The temples are flat acetate arms on metal hinges, each set with a small metal marker on the outer face and finished in a pale contrast tone towards the tip. The bridge is moulded into the front, so the height on the nose is fixed.
The frame is acetate; the translucent finish is the same material left unpigmented.
Where it sits
- A small oval that sits close to the eye rather than covering the socket
- Thick acetate spreads the weight across the bridge instead of pinching it
- A moulded acetate bridge, so the height on the nose is fixed rather than adjustable
- Flat temples sit close to the head rather than standing off it
- Reads deliberately small on any face, which is the look rather than a fit issue
Filtered, not just tinted
The lenses are polarised with an anti-glare treatment and full UV400 filtering across UVA and UVB. Polarisation is what removes the flat white shine off a wet road, a windscreen or open water; UV400 is the protection figure, and it is the number worth reading on any pair.
The Transparent finish is supplied with an untinted lens — a frame rather than a sun lens. The other five are tinted, including a green and a red that are closer to a fashion lens than a driving one.
Six colourways, one front
Four colourways use the tortoiseshell front; Black and Brown are the same oval in solid black acetate with different lens tints.
Why it costs what it costs
Thick acetate around a small lens is not the cheap way to build a frame. The material is cut from sheet and finished at the edges, the tortoiseshell pattern runs through the block rather than being printed on it, and a polarised lens costs more than a tint. None of that is where the usual shelf price comes from.
We sell direct. There is no shop floor between the frame and you and no distributor taking a cut on the way, so the retail margin that normally sits on top of a build like this is simply not in the price. What that money pays for instead is the lens — polarised with UV400 across the tinted colourways, rather than the good lens being reserved for one finish.
- Sold direct — no retail margin stacked on the frame
- Polarised, UV400 lenses rather than a plain tint
- Moulded acetate front rather than a thin printed plastic one
- Tortoiseshell running through the material, not printed on the surface
- Six colourways at one price, including an untinted option

Is it too small for a wide face?
It sits small and close to the eye, which is the whole point of the shape.
Are the nose pads adjustable?
No. The bridge is moulded into the acetate front, so the height on the nose is fixed. An optician can warm and reshape acetate slightly, but not the way metal pads adjust.
What does polarised actually change?
It removes the flat glare that bounces off horizontal surfaces — wet tarmac, a car bonnet, water, snow. Colours look deeper and you squint less. It is separate from UV filtering, which this lens also carries at UV400.
What is the Transparent finish?
The same frame supplied with an untinted lens. It is bought as a frame — for the look, or to be reglazed to prescription — rather than as a sun lens. The lens still carries UV protection.
Is tortoiseshell printed on?
No. The pattern runs through the acetate block, so it does not wear off at the edges the way a printed finish does.
How should it be cleaned?
Rinse under cool water to lift grit, then dry with the cloth supplied. Keep acetate away from heat — a car dashboard in summer is what warps a frame, not wear.
Six colourways, and not many of each
Each finish is held in a small run. The green and the red are the two that go first, and when a colourway goes it is not always brought back.
Pick your colourway above and add it to the bag. If it is not right on your face, send it back — the only thing you risk is missing the one you wanted.
