Driving Loafers
Driving loafers in a napped upper, with a metal bar across the vamp and a studded sole. Four colours.
The studs run up the back of the heel. That is what makes a driving sole a driving sole.
A driving sole is rubber studs set into the bottom of the shoe, not a slab underneath
The studs wrap round the heel so the shoe grips where the foot rests against a pedal, and they flex individually instead of as one plate. It is a sole made for a specific job that happens to be very comfortable for everything else.
Soft above, studded below
These loafers are plush in cushioning with a soft lining, classic in silhouette, versatile from work to the weekend and made from premium materials to last.
They have a napped upper with apron stitching across the toe, a metal bar across the vamp, a lace threaded round the collar and a studded driving sole that wraps up the back of the heel. Four colours are offered.

Why it costs what it costs
Setting rubber studs into a sole is slower than gluing a flat one on, and the metal bar across the vamp is a separate part fitted by hand. Both are the sort of detail that is quietly dropped first when a shoe is built down to a price.
We sell direct. There is no shop floor between this and you and no distributor taking a cut on the way, so the retail margin that normally sits on top of a piece like this is simply not in the price.
- Sold direct — no retail margin stacked on the pair
- A studded driving sole rather than a flat one
- A metal bar fitted across the vamp
- Four colours, one style
- Seven calendar days from delivery to return or exchange, unworn and in its original condition.
