Ballet Flats
Flat ballet shoes with a stretch knitted upper and a round toe. Seven colours.
The upper stretches. That is the whole answer to a shoe with nothing to fasten.
A knitted flat gives where a cut-and-sewn one presses
A leather ballet flat has a fixed opening and a foot that does not. A knitted upper moves with the width of the foot instead of fighting it, which is why the same size can work across feet that a stitched shoe would not fit.
Knit above, flat below
These shoes are an orthopaedic design that spreads pressure evenly, a round toe box and stretch that suits wider feet, breathable through the seasons, on a slip-resistant outsole.
The shoes photographed have a stretch knitted upper, a round toe, a low flat heel and a plain topline with no fastening. Seven colours appear in the gallery.

Why it costs what it costs
Seven colours of a plain shoe is seven yarn lots knitted, lasted and held before any of them sells. A shop stocks two and orders the rest; carrying all seven is what makes the one you actually wanted available.
We sell direct. There is no shop floor between this and you and no distributor taking a cut on the way, so the retail margin that normally sits on top of a piece like this is simply not in the price.
- Sold direct — no retail margin stacked on the pair
- An upper knitted to shape
- A round toe box rather than a pointed one
- Seven colours, one style
- Seven calendar days from delivery to return or exchange, unworn and in its original condition.

Is it sold direct?
Yes. Romane & Co sells direct, with no shop floor and no distributor between the piece and you.
Will they suit a wider foot?
Yes. The knit stretches and the toe box is round, so a wider foot is not squeezed.
How many colours are there?
Seven.
Can they be returned?
Yes. Seven calendar days from delivery, unworn and in their original condition.
Seven colours, held in a small run
This is stocked in small quantities rather than carried continuously. When a colour goes it is not automatically repeated.
Add it to the bag. Seven days to send it back if it is not right.
