Checked Canvas
Open Tote
An open tote in checked coated canvas, with slim leather handles, side cinch straps and a red lining.
Side straps that cinch the tote in, and a removable inner pouch.
It changes width, which most totes do not
The straps at the sides pull the body in or let it out. Loose, it takes a shop; cinched, it reads as a neat handbag. One bag covering two shapes is the whole reason this tote has lasted.
Listed at checkout in brown, in one size.
Coated canvas, cinch sides
The body is a checked coated canvas with slim leather handles set on tabs, an open top and a strap at each side that cinches the width in.
The lining is red with a striped weave, and a removable zip pouch on a leash sits inside.
How it carries
- Side straps that cinch the width in or let it out
- Slim leather handles set on tabs
- An open top rather than a zipped one
- A red lining, so the inside is easy to see
- A removable zip pouch on a leash
The product
An elegant silhouette, a spacious interior for daily essentials and a comfortable shoulder carry, for work, travel, shopping and special occasions.

Listed at checkout in brown, in one size.
Why it costs what it costs
Slim handles carry a loaded tote on two narrow points, which is why they are set on reinforced tabs rather than stitched flat to the panel — the join that fails first when that step is skipped.
We sell direct. There is no shop floor between this bag and you and no distributor taking a cut on the way, so the retail margin that normally sits on top of a piece like this is simply not in the price.
- Sold direct — no retail margin stacked on the bag
- Side straps that change the width
- A removable inner zip pouch
- Handles set on reinforced tabs
- One colour, one price

1 × Checked Canvas Open Tote · 1 × inner zip pouch
How big is it?
It is a full-size tote.
Does the inner pouch come with it?
Yes. A zip pouch on a leash sits inside.
What material is it?
A checked coated canvas with leather handles and trim.
Does it close?
No. The top is open. The side straps cinch the width but do not shut it.
How should it be cleaned?
A damp cloth on the canvas and a dry one on the leather.
One colour, held in a small run
This is stocked in small quantities rather than carried continuously. When it goes it is not automatically repeated.
Add it to the bag. If it is not right, send it back.
