Gathered Denim
Half-Moon Bag
A small half-moon bag in monogram cotton denim with natural leather trim and a top zip.
A fifteen-centimetre strap. This one is meant for the hand.
Denim, gathered rather than cut flat
The pleats at each end are what give this its shape: the panel is gathered into the leather tabs so the body swells in the middle and the monogram weave curves with it. A flat-cut version of the same bag would read as a pouch.
Cotton denim, leather trim
It has a cotton monogram denim outside with natural leather trim, a cotton denim lining and gold-tone metal, closing on a zip along the top.
The interior is a single pouch-style main compartment. The leather strap is removable and about 15 cm, which is a hand carry. The whole bag is about 500 grams.
How it carries
- A removable leather strap at approx. 15 cm
- A hand carry rather than a shoulder one
- A zip along the top
- A single pouch-style compartment
- Approx. 0.5 kg

Why it costs what it costs
Weaving a motif into denim rather than printing it on means the pattern is in the cloth, so it fades with the indigo instead of peeling off it. It also means the gathers have to fall where the motif allows, which is a cutting problem before it is a sewing one.
