Perforated Leather
Bucket Bag
A compact bucket bag in perforated calfskin, closing on a braided leather drawstring, with a round purse.
Five hundred grams, and a coin purse that comes off.
The pattern is punched, not printed
Every motif on this bag is a hole through the leather, backed by a microfibre lining that shows through it. It means the pattern cannot wear off, and it is also why the bag is 500 grams: a good deal of the material has been removed.
Perforated calfskin, braided cord
It has a perforated calfskin with a monogram pattern punched through it, a microfibre lining and light-gold metal, gathering shut at the top on a braided leather drawstring.
A round coin purse hangs from the strap and is removable. The shoulder strap is adjustable at 48 cm, which is a shoulder carry.
How it carries
- An adjustable strap, approx. 48 cm
- A shoulder carry rather than a crossbody
- A braided leather drawstring closure
- A removable round coin purse
- Approx. 0.5 kg

Why it costs what it costs
Punching a pattern through calfskin weakens it everywhere the holes go, so the leather has to be chosen thick enough to survive the perforation and still be soft enough to gather on a drawstring. That is a narrow specification, and it is the reason most perforated bags are stiff.
