Wide Tote
A wide, soft-sided tote with rolled handles and side buckle straps, in suede or glazed leather-look. Four versions.
38 cm wide, 28 cm high, 23 cm deep, with a 13 cm handle drop.
Wide rather than tall
Most totes are cut tall, which buries everything at the bottom. This is cut wide and deep — 38 cm across and 23 cm front to back — so the contents sit side by side instead of stacked, and the mouth stays open enough to see them.
Photographed in brown suede. Four versions are offered.
Soft sides, rolled handles, side buckles
The body is soft-sided and unstructured, with a wide flat base and side straps on small buckles that pull the mouth in or let it open out. The handles are rolled rather than flat.
It has vegan suede leather, a width of 38 cm, a height of 28 cm, a depth of 23 cm and a handle drop of 13 cm. Two of the four versions are a glazed leather-look finish rather than suede.
How it carries
- 38 cm wide, 28 cm high and 23 cm deep
- A 13 cm handle drop, which is a hand or forearm carry rather than a shoulder one
- Side buckle straps that pull the mouth in or let it open out
- A wide flat base, so the contents sit side by side
- Soft-sided, so it collapses down when it is not full
The product
Vegan suede leather, in a tote shape made for city outings, everyday use and university. Width 38 cm, height 28 cm, depth 23 cm, handle drop 13 cm.
The glazed versions are listed separately at checkout.
Four versions
Listed at checkout as Suede Brown, Suede Black, Glazed Brown and Glazed Black. The cut, the handles and the measurements are the same in all four; the finish is what changes.
Why it costs what it costs
A soft-sided bag this wide has to be cut so the base holds flat under weight, and suede shows every correction, so the panels have to be right the first time.
We sell direct. There is no shop floor between this bag and you and no distributor taking a cut on the way, so the retail margin that normally sits on top of a piece like this is simply not in the price.
- Sold direct — no retail margin stacked on the bag
- Vegan suede, or a glazed finish on the other two versions
- Side buckle straps that change how wide the mouth opens
- Rolled handles rather than flat straps

1 × Abigail Wide Tote
How big is it?
38 cm wide, 28 cm high and 23 cm deep, with a 13 cm handle drop.
Will it go over a shoulder?
No. A 13 cm handle drop is a hand or forearm carry.
What do the side straps do?
They buckle in to close the mouth up or let out to open it wide.
What is the difference between suede and glazed?
Suede is matt and napped; the glazed versions have a smooth, polished surface. The cut and the measurements are identical.
Is it real leather?
No. It is vegan suede leather.
How should it be cleaned?
Brush the suede dry with a soft brush. A damp cloth is fine on the glazed versions.
Four versions, held in a small run
Suede is stocked in small quantities rather than carried continuously, and the brown suede is usually the first to go.
Pick your version above and add it to the bag. If it is not right, send it back.
