Shirt Dress
A full-length shirt dress with an oversized collar and a gathered, wrapped waist.
All of the volume is below the waist. None of it is above.
The waist is doing all the work
A dress this full needs somewhere to put the fabric. Gathering it into a wrapped, asymmetric waist rather than a straight seam means the skirt breaks from one point instead of all the way round, which is what produces the diagonal fall you can see when it moves.
A crisp cloth, gathered at the waist
It is a long dress with a retro-inspired collar, breezy and comfortable for all-day wear, and it is designed in Toronto.
Three colourways are offered: Beige, Black and Olive Green.
How it wears
- A collar cut oversized and pointed
- A gathered, wrapped waist
- Long sleeves, rolled in the photographs
- A full skirt to the ankle
- Three colourways at checkout

Why it costs what it costs
A skirt with this much fabric shows every fault in the cloth, because the light runs down the folds rather than across a flat panel. It is the reason a cheap version of this dress reads as a dressing gown and a good one does not.
