Cuffed
Tapered Trousers
Tapered trousers with an elasticated cuff at the ankle, in three colours.
The cuff is what stops these reading as a tracksuit.
A cuff is a hem that decides where the leg ends
An open hem falls wherever the shoe lets it and the break changes every time you sit down. A cuff fixes the point, which is why a tapered trouser with one always looks deliberate and the same trouser without one often does not.
Tapered, with a fixed cuff
A mid-rise waist and a tailored, streamlined fit, moving between office and evening.
The trousers photographed have a tapered leg closing on an elasticated cuff at the ankle, side pockets and welt pockets at the back. Three colours appear in the gallery.
They are chinos.

Why it costs what it costs
An elasticated cuff has to be set into a tapered leg without twisting the seam, because the leg is already narrowing towards it. Get it wrong by a few millimetres and the trouser rotates on the calf as you walk — which is the single most common fault in this shape.
We sell direct. There is no shop floor between this and you and no distributor taking a cut on the way, so the retail margin that normally sits on top of a piece like this is simply not in the price.
- Sold direct — no retail margin stacked on the pair
- A tapered leg with a fixed cuff
- Pockets front and back
- Three colours, one style
- Seven calendar days from delivery to return or exchange, unworn and in its original condition.
