A close jumper gets its interest from the body underneath it. An oversized one has none, so it has to come from the surface: a raised diamond breaks the light across a wide panel and stops the whole thing reading as a flat sheet of wool.

Why it costs what it costs
A raised diamond is a stitch pattern, not a print, which means the machine changes what it is doing on almost every row rather than repeating one instruction for the whole panel. That is slower knitting per centimetre than a plain jumper, and it is the entire difference between this and a flat one.
We sell direct. There is no shop floor between this and you and no distributor taking a cut on the way, so the retail margin that normally sits on top of a piece like this is simply not in the price.
