Quilting is what stops filling from moving
Without stitch lines the filling migrates to the hem within a season and the chest goes cold. Every line is a place the jacket is slightly less warm, so the spacing is a trade-off, not a decoration.
Padded through, zipped to the neck
This winter coat is warm in the coldest conditions, protective against wind and wet weather, elegant and cut for all-day comfort.

Why it costs what it costs
Two quilting patterns on one jacket means the shoulder is stitched on a different machine setting from the body, and the two have to meet exactly at the yoke seam. A single pattern throughout is faster, cheaper and flatter.
We sell direct. There is no shop floor between this and you and no distributor taking a cut on the way, so the retail margin that normally sits on top of a piece like this is simply not in the price.
