Chunky Knit
Funnel-Neck Jumper
A chunky knit jumper with a funnel neck and full batwing sleeves. Nine colours.
The neck stands up on its own. That is the knit, not an interfacing.
A chunky gauge is slower on the machine and heavier on the yarn
Fewer, larger stitches means more yarn per square centimetre and a slower pass. It also means every irregularity is visible at arm's length, so the tension has nowhere to hide on a jumper knitted this openly.
A neck that stands, sleeves that fall
This knitted jumper is warm and sophisticated, versatile from casual to formal, loose in fit for unrestricted movement and timeless enough to keep.
The jumper photographed is knitted in a chunky gauge with a high funnel neck, dropped shoulders falling into full batwing sleeves, and ribbing at the cuffs and hem. Nine colours appear in the gallery.

Why it costs what it costs
Nine colours means nine separate yarn lots dyed, knitted and held before a single one sells. Most shops carry three and order the rest to request; holding all nine is what makes the unusual colour there when somebody wants it.
We sell direct. There is no shop floor between this and you and no distributor taking a cut on the way, so the retail margin that normally sits on top of a piece like this is simply not in the price.
- Sold direct — no retail margin stacked on the jumper
- A chunky gauge that uses more yarn per centimetre
- A funnel neck knitted to stand on its own
- Nine colours, one style
- Seven calendar days from delivery to return or exchange, unworn and in its original condition.
