Banded Ring
A wide band ring with engraved rails either side of a black centre band.
Two materials in one ring means two expansion rates. They have to be seated, not glued.
Setting a hard centre band inside soft metal rails is a fitting problem, not a design one
The two materials move at different rates with heat and pressure, so the seat has to hold the centre without gripping it hard enough to crack. It is the reason rings built this way are made on a jig rather than by hand.

Why it costs what it costs
A ring made of two materials has to be assembled rather than cast in one piece, and the join runs right round the part that gets knocked against everything. It is a slower way to make a band and a harder one to make well.
We sell direct. There is no shop floor between this and you and no distributor taking a cut on the way, so the retail margin that normally sits on top of a piece like this is simply not in the price.
